Building a web site – what not to do

This is a funny commentary on micro-managing projects we’ve assigned to others, in this case web site development.  We’ve all been this annoying client at one time or another.  The moral is – hire experts you trust, and let them do the job.

LOL!!! :) That page is an excellent example of reality!!!

As a Web designer and SEO, unfortunately I experience this on a daily basis. After a website is finished and paid for, clients sometimes bring in a buddy or family member who edits the site and screws it all up. Then calls to have me fix the damage. A few weeks later, they do it all over again.

Sometimes after months of hard work writing custom original content to get their website ranked in the search engines, the client’s friend or relative decides to edit everything to their personal taste; only to ruin the SEO and cause the site to fall several pages down in the SERPs.

I couldn’t agree more; if you do not code HTML, if you are not a copywriter, if you know zip about SEO, if you can barely just use email send/receive, then PLEASE, let the professional do their job and just kick back and enjoy the rewards. Everyone (especially me) will be a lot happier in the end.
